getting new ideas, learning from the experience from others

Regular media attended the discussion we had with Tim, and publised a report in the monitor:

Jon recorded and edited a video of the discussion on local hosting we had with Tim.

One of Tim's main message was that government should put all its data online. No matter what format, just upload it. It is public data anyways, owned by the taxpayers.

To illustrate the powers of raw data he mentioned a blogpost by a british government worker who published data about bicycle accidents in the UK.

We're beginning to round up photos and videos from the event. A collection of links to the various media sources can be found on the main Uganda LUG website: http://linux.or.ug

We will update it frequently as new content rolls in, so check back often.

Sir Tim Berners-Lee made an appearance on SanyuFM with Fatboy & Melanie.

He even posted his own picture online: http://tweetphoto.com/bghbt5oz

You can hear the interview here:

(there are some parts of the recording sub-optimal, but very much worth the listen. Turn up the volume!)
